ERM Includes Business Continuity Management
This major media company, having adopted an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, surveyed business continuity management (BCM) best practices and available systems, and implemented a BCM framework covering all of its activities in an efficient and practical manner. The framework included implementation, testing and maintenance, and covered the capital-intensive manufacturing activities, the more intangible people-based businesses, as well as the critical real-time information-technology-based sector. The system ranged from the high-level managerial principles to the detailed files for each business unit, with an ability to roll-up the data and plans to the desired level – group, sector, corporate. All plans were fully backed-up and available from any location, including on mobile technology platforms.
